SJW Recognized by Silicon Valley Business Journal with Community Impact Award

Honored for charitable giving, volunteer mobilization and nonprofit partnerships

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Sept 18, 2025 - San Jose Water (“SJW” or “the Company”), a wholly owned subsidiary of H2O America (NASDAQ: HTO), announced it has been chosen as a Silicon Valley Business Journal Community Impact honoree, Class of 2025. These awards recognize individuals, nonprofits or companies that have made an exceptional impact on the Silicon Valley community. SJW will be celebrated among such organizations as the San Francisco 49ers and The Northern California College Promise Coalition at the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Corporate Philanthropy Awards at Villa Ragusa in Campbell on October 23, 2025.

From local nonprofit support to charitable partnerships with other water utilities and neighborhood volunteerism, this award reflects SJW’s commitment to its community. SJW, through its Force For Good Foundation, donates around $250,000 per year to multiple local non-profits, community organizations and other philanthropic entities. Employee volunteers have also shared their time and effort towards everything from preparing and serving meals, to providing critical home repairs to communities in need.

SJW’s many service highlights include:

Local nonprofit support: In 2025, SJW continued its longstanding support of such charities as Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, Guadalupe River Park Conservancy, Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley and the San Jose Public Library Foundation. 

Partnerships with elected officials: Every Thanksgiving, SJW and the California Water Association (CWA) work with local elected officials to donate gift cards for Thanksgiving meals as part of its annual Operation Gobble program. 

Youth and education enrichment programs: SJW promotes science and technology-based learning programs (STEM) that inspire youth towards success in the fields of engineering, technology and business. The Company supports a number of youth organizations and institutions that encourage community education in these fields including the Schmahl Science Workshop, Hacienda Environmental Science school and San Jose State.

Health and human services contributions: SJW supports services such as food banks and solutions for housing insecurity including Homefirst, Hunger at Home, and Family Supportive Housing.

Community arts and culture experiences: SJW supports the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy, City Lights Theater Company, Christmas in the Park and San Jose Parks Community Garden Program, among others.

Cultivating connection: SJW employee teams regularly suit up and roll out to participate in local enrichment, charity fundraising and community-building functions such as elementary school events, Touch-a-Truck days, and Bark in the Park gatherings.

Employee giving mobilization: SJW supports employees’ efforts to give back to their communities through the San Jose Water Employee Community Fund. This separate 501c3 organization leverages employee contributions along with a company match to support employees’ involvement with local PTAs, little league teams and other organizations.
