San Jose Water Recognized for Creative, Philanthropic Excellence and Industry Leadership

SAN JOSE, Calif., August 1, 2023 – San Jose Water (“SJW” or “the Company”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJW Group (NYSE: SJW), announced today that it has recently accrued an impressive list of awards. From industry to corporate and community recognitions, SJW continues to bring award-winning excellence to every aspect of its business.

The following are just a sampling of the recognitions SJW has recently earned:

• Honored as one of the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Business Journal’s Most Philanthropic Companies for donating $250,000 in 2022 to local nonprofits, community organizations, and other philanthropic entities. SJW has been included in the annual ranking of the Bay Area’s most generous businesses for several years, highlighting the company’s community support with programs like Operation Gobble, donating $5,000 to local charities at Thanksgiving, and donating $15,000 to send Washington Elementary students to science camp.  
• Recognized by Water Environment Federation as a Utility of the Future Today, an honor that involved a rigorous application process and required in-depth data analysis of the work SJW does both internally and externally. The Utility of the Future Today Recognition Program certifies industry-leading utilities that optimize and continually improve their operations, consistently meet or exceed their regulatory requirements, plan and invest effectively for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of their infrastructure, and engage their employees and communities in meaningful and productive ways.
• Awarded Platinum and Gold Hermes Creative Awards respectively for SJW’s annual Sustainability Report, as well as the Company’s communications campaigns on water quality and the launch of its email newsletter for customers.

These recent awards highlight SJW’s dedication to bettering the service it provides its customers, whether it be by leading the way in industry technology and infrastructure, communicating effectively with users, or supporting its local communities.
