We had a chance to catch up with Dominic Boegel from our Operations team and learn a little more him and his time here at SJW - check out our Q&A!

What is your role at SJW?
I’m a Crew leader in the Operations Department managing a crew of two. I help oversee water tank cleanings, pipe repairs, emergency equipment deployment, and everything else that goes into maintaining our water distribution facilities and intakes.
What is your favorite part of the job?
The nicest thing about my job is that every day there’s a different challenge. You have to use your brain, you have to pivot and not panic. It’s challenging and it’s fulfilling work.
What’s your connection to San Jose?
I was born and raised in Santa Cruz! I wanted a job in San Jose for the great opportunities I knew it provided. San Jose Water checked all the boxes I was looking for, and I was lucky to be afforded the opportunity.
When you’re not at work, what do you like to do for fun? What are your hobbies?
I love to ride motorcycles with my future wife-to-be! I’m a diesel enthusiast, and I love to work on the farm as well.
Favorite sports team? OR Last concert you went to?
Not really much of a sports guy, but I’ve been to many Dave Matthews concerts. I’m a huge DMB fan.
Do you have a motto you live by?
A little motto I like to live by: “A jack of all trades, master of none, though often better than a master of one.”
Thanks for taking the time to tell us a little more about yourself, Dom! We're glad to have you on the SJW team.
