Water Source Change To Continue For West-Side Residents

You are here

The Santa Clara Valley Water District’s Rinconada Water Treatment Plant  was shutdown on Dec. 22 to accomodate emergency repair work on the South Bay Aquaduct which brings water to those two treatment locations.

Officials temporarily restored service via the aquaduct before determing that more work would need to be done to repair the leak. During the shutdown, Sam Jose Water will continue to deliver groundwater to customers in our service area who are south of Stevens Creek and west of Highways 880 & 17.

Groundwater, while typically “harder” than the supply normally provided to SJW by the Santa Clara Valley Water District, meets or exceeds all applicable drinking water regulations.

We apologize for any inconvenience you experience and appreciate your understanding as we support the emergency work being done to repair this vital water nfrastructure.
