San Jose Water Company purchases wholesale water through the Santa Clara Valley Water District.  The water delivered to customers in the western part of our service area (Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, Campbell and Cupertino), frequently comes from the District's Rinconada Water Treatment Facility

The District notified SJWC that its plant operators identified a musty odor in the plant's water supply that could be the result of an algae bloom in the region from which the water originates.  To address the odor, the District has already adjusted the water source. This fast response should address the musty smell for San Jose Water Company customers within 24 hours.  The water continues to be safe and meets all drinking water standards.
