San Jose Water Company is more than a business that has served the community since 1866. We are a family of people who care about the environment and the community in which we live, work, and serve. San Jose Water Company believes that there can be no “company” without “community” and we are proud of our long-standing commitment to support the community’s social health and economic vibrancy. Our employees are blessed with a wealth of talents and a volunteer spirit that allows the company to improve the lives for customers, neighbors, and employees.

San Jose Water Company’s commitment to responsible corporate citizenship includes the following initiatives:

  • Corporate Contributions

San Jose Water Company provides financial support to a diverse array of causes and initiatives delivering education and youth enrichment opportunities, human health and services, and arts programs that enhance our everyday quality of life. We support organizations that embrace diversity and provide measurable outcomes for the communities where we do business.

  • Employee Involvement

San Jose Water Company is proud of its employees’ “giving” and “volunteer” spirits. The SJWC Employees' Community Fund, Inc. encourages and supports employees’ involvement in the communities in which they live.

  • Environmental Stewardship

Progressive, responsible environmental leadership is paramount to the business of providing water. At San Jose Water Company, we are leading the way to protect the environment.

  • "Thanksgiving in January"

SJWC and Martha's Kitchen partner to serve the community.

  • Supplier Diversity

San Jose Water Company seeks business relationships that enable us to provide exceptional customer service and a reliable supply of high quality water. We strive to broaden our network of business partners through a newly implemented Utility Supplier Diversity Program (USDP) that recruits and utilizes local women and minority owned business enterprises (WMBE) and disabled-veteran owned business enterprises (DVBE) in our procurement chain.
