  Certification of Supplier Participants
The CPUC certification process allows regulated utilities to work with diverse suppliers whose business is 51% owned or operated by a worman, minority or service disabled veteran business enterprise.

The Supplier Certification process is administerd by Asian Inc., a third party certifying agency authorized by the Commission to review supplier applications and conduct a screening process for MWBE (Minority and Women Business Enterprise) certification. Service Disable Veteran certification is obtained through the State of California Department of General Services.

To align with the USDP guidelines, a supplier must be certified by the clearinghouse, department of DGS or one of the three comparable agencies whose certification would qualify for CPUC comparable certification. See below for comparable certification agencies:
Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) or SBD Program
Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)
National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC)

Once certified, your business will qualify to participate in the USDP (Utility Supplier Diversity Program), as well as become recognized and listed as a certified MWDVBE by the California Public Utilities Clearinghouse Database.

To receive information about how to become certified as MWDVBE visit Asian Inc. or contact:
