Rates & Regulations
San Jose Water Company's Regulatory Affairs Department directs and oversees SJWC's interactions with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the state agency charged with the regulatory oversight of investor-owned utilities in California. The department's ultimate objective is to develop policies and rates that provide fair and equitable customer treatment while optimizing shareholder returns. This is achieved through SJWC's participation in various CPUC proceedings and activities.
