New Service to Existing Served Property

For General Meter Services larger than 3", Private Fire Protection Services, Hydrant Installation and Main Extensions.

• Requests for service that involve a design drawing and cost estimate.
• The applicant must submit a completed SJWC Form 40 Questionaire along with improvement plans a construction schedule, underground piping plans, and an engineering deposit. A file is assembled and a job number is assigned to the project.
• Fire Department requirements are confirmed.
• The file is routed to the SJWC Engineering Department for preparation of a construction drawing and a cost estimate. A hydraulic review is done by SJWC and backflow requirements determined.
• Upon completion of engineering, the file is returned for the preparation of a construction agreement and a cover letter that explains the procedure to be follwed to process the job for construction.
