I am enrolled in EBill and need to sign up for SJWC's Automatic Payment Service(APS).

Log-in to EBill. From the "My Documents" screen select the APS link from the menu bar just below the SJW logo. Click on the link in the Join APS column. Fill out and submit the form. SJWC will take care of the rest. Top

I should have received my EBill email informing me that my water bill is ready, but have not received it yet. What do I do?

If you were expecting your water bill and have not received an EBill notification, check your "bulk mail" or "junk mail" folder and see if it is there. EBill notifications are sent in "bulk" and some email servers, (such as Hotmail, etc.) may think our email is "junk". To ensure you receive EBill notifications from SJWC please add the e-mail address, "customer_care@sjwater.com" to your personal address book or "safe list". You can always review your EBill by logging-in. Top

Can I still pay my bill by mail if I receive an electronic bill?

No. Electronic bill subscribers must pay their bills electronically. Subscribers may pay using SJWC's Automatic Payment Service (APS) program, EPay/On-demand payment, or may pay the water bill using other online or home banking systems. Top

I've just enrolled in eBill when can I start making payments?

Processing your enrollment in eBill will take 2-3 days. If you would like to make an immediate payment, you may make a one-time payment. Once your EBill enrollment has been completed the next water bill will be electronic, you will receive an email informing you that your water bill is available for viewing. Top

How is my personal and financial information kept safe?

EBill uses several methods to ensure that your information is secure:

UserID and Password: Your UserID and password are unique identifiers that only you know. As long as you don't share your UserID and password with anyone, no one can view your bills or personal information.
SSL: EBill uses SSL (secure socket layers), which ensures that your connection and information are secure from outside inspection.
Encryption: EBill uses 128-bit encryption to make your information unreadable as it passes over the Internet.
Automatic Sign Out: EBill automatically signs you out of a session if you are inactive for 20 minutes. Top

Are all computers safe to use?

Computer security experts advise that you may put your information at risk when you use a public computer for personal business. While SJWC uses numerous security measures to protect your personal information on our website, the use of public computers may compromise the security of your information. Public computers include those in schools, libraries, Internet Cafe's, etc.

Home computer security may also be compromised, especially if the home computer is not protected by a firewall, anti-phish, and other tools for safe computing.

For maximum security you may want to avoid using public computers when enrolling or modifying your personal or banking information. Top
