SJWC Joins the Circus for a Night
San Jose Water Company for the third straight year sponsored "Neighborhood Night", featuring the Circus Chimera, at the Children's Discovery Museum. The museum closed to the public at 5:00 pm on May 16, and reopened shortly afterward for family and friends of various schools and associations in the neighborhoods surrounding the museum.
Participants were treated to a variety of arts and crafts projects as well as full use of the museum displays and interactive children's activities. The nearly two dozen volunteers from SJWC assisted the children in making corn husk dolls and clown hats. The line at the face painting station was 15 deep the entire night. A dinner of pizza and a fresh apple was distributed by SJWC volunteers.
The Guest Ringmaster for Neighborhood Night was Meter Shop Supervisor Mike Salas, 35-year veteran of San Jose Water Company. Nearly 1,000 people turned out to Discovery Meadow for the Circus Chimera performance of "Happy Dayz".
