San Jose Water Company helped the Willow Glen Neighborhood Association celebrate the 75th anniversary of Founders' Day on Sunday September 8th at Willow Glen Elementary School. The event recognized the founding and brief independence of Willow Glen from 1927 to 1936, when it was incorporated and welcomed as an integral neighborhood within the City of San Jose.

SJWC's historic booth displayed plot map books from 1910, the 1930's and 1940's as well as company scrap books and pictures from those eras. Volunteers also dispensed conservation-related materials and answered customers' questions about their water service. Event organizers deemed the company's historic display the most popular at the event, which had an estimated attendance of over 5,000 people.

Our popular Raingutter Regatta made an appearance in the Children's area. Future captains squared off to race the small wooden boats for prizes.

SJWC was proud to be a part of the celebration of the history and community spirit of the Willow Glen neighborhood.
