Another nice crowd turned out for the Eighth Annual Bark in the Park, held September 15th at William Street Park in San Jose. Temperatures were moderate as thousands of dogs and their owners turned out for the event, which was co-sponsored by San Jose Water Company. Hundreds of water-loving dogs hopped in and out of SJWC's doggie pools and then hung out under the misting tent. About ten employees and their family members volunteered at the event, which was attended by more than 10,000 people and at about 3,000 dogs.
Proceeds from Bark in the Park go to the Campus Community Association, which is a non-profit public benefit corporation, organized to promote neighborhood spirit and improve the quality of life in the downtown community.
