A group of more than 20 SJWC volunteers worked on Saturday, April 25th at the home of an East San Jose resident to improve her living conditions. Volunteers painted the entire exterior of the house, replaced landscaping, and generally ‘spruced up’ her home as part of our annual Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley project.
The entire exterior of the home was painted, including trim and shutters. Exterior lighting was replaced, plumbing fixtures updated and steps extended in order to accommodate a walker. Many other small projects were also completed.
Councilman Sam Liccardo was assigned paint duty by Danny Vierra and Bob Bohdanowicz, the project’s co-captains. Councilman Liccardo thanked the employees of SJWC for contributing their time and expertise to improving his constituent’s home. At the end of the day, the house was polished, safer and much improved. The homeowner was grateful to all the support that she received from our volunteers. All in all, it was another very good cause and a great day.
